WYNOT — The Lady Blue Devils locked up with Niobrara-Verdigre in a make up game played on Monday night that went down to the wire.
The two teams exchanged lead several times in the game with the Lady Blue Devils rallying in the second half to come away with the 43-40 win.
Haley Wieseler would lead the gals in blue to the win pouring in a game high 20 in an outstanding performance.
Niobrara-Verdigre was led by Delani Runners with 16 points.
In the opening quarter Wynot got four points from Kenna Oligmueller and a three pointer from Addison Sharpe. Niobrara Verdigre countered with six points from Tayler Stark and a pair of buckets from Eve Kucera to take a 12-10 early advantage.
The second quarter saw Haley Wieseler drain a pair of three pointers and the Blue Devils got a basket each from Jordan Foxhoven and Addison Sharpe. but Niobrara Verdigre was able to cling to a 2522 haftime lead.
In the third quarter, Wynot cut the N-V lead to one point at 36-35 thanks to five more Haley Wieseler points, and four points from Kenna Oligmueller.
In the final period the Devils defense tightened up holding the Lady Cougars to just two field goals. Meanwhile Haley Wieseler added five more points to her totals and Wynot hit 4-6 free throws to seal the 43-40 win.
The Wynot girls are now in Lewis and Clark Tourney action.
