HARTINGTON – Amber Kneifl, 38, Hartington, died suddenly of an apparent aneurysm, Jan. 11, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.

HARTINGTON — Amber Kneifl, 38, Hartington, died suddenly of an apparent aneurysm, Jan. 11, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial was Jan. 17 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Newcastle, with Rev. Andy Sohm and Rev. Rod Kneifl officiating.

Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Newcastle.

Visitation and a vigil service were Monday at church, and visitation continued one hour prior to services Tuesday.

Arrangements were under the di - rection of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Pallbearers were Amber's siblings, Jeremy Hart, Heath Claussen, Nickie

Kouma, Chance Claussen, RainNee Claussen-Lintz and Nevada Clauss en. Honorary pallbearer was Mike Wagner.

Amber DeSire Freedom Kneifl was born Feb. 7, 1984, in O’Neill, to Randy Ray Reimers and Janice Mae Hart Claussen. She grew up in Pierce, and graduated from Pierce High School in 2003. After high school, Amber attended Northeast Community College, Norfolk, for two years with a focus in Early Childhood Development. In 2006, Amber married Ryan Kneifl in Newcastle. They lived in Newcastle until Amber moved to Hartington in 2020. From 2016 until 2020, Amber worked at Bomgaars in Sioux City, Iowa. She also spent time as a stay-at-home mom and worked at farm supply stores.

Amber enjoyed boxing in high school and college. She was a nation al champion once and runner-up several times. She also enjoyed farm- ing, spending time with family, horseback riding, and was involved in 4-H.

Amber is survived by her four children, Kora Kneifl, Christopher Kneifl, Logan Kneifl and Elliott Kneifl, Newcastle; six siblings, Jeremy (Peggy) Hart, Hartington; Heath (Joy) Claussen, Wayne; Nickie (Tom) Kouma, Seward; Chance (Alisha) Claussen, Stanton; RainNee (Jon - athan) Claussen-Lintz, Seward; Nevada (Leah) Claussen, Pierce; the father of Amber’s children, Ryan Kneifl, Newcastle; parents, Randy Reimers and Janice Claussen, Norfolk; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Shirley and Alvin Hart.
