BANCROFT — On Thursday night, the Wynot Lady Blue Devils ventured to Bancroft-Rosalie to battle the Lady Panthers.
Wynot’s offense struggled all night as the Lady Panthers went on a 20-6 second-quarter run that the Lady Blue Devils never recovered from and Bancroft-Rosalie earned the 46-29 win.
Wynot was led by Haley Wieseler and Addison Sharpe with eight points each, while Jordan Foxhoven chipped in with her seven points.
B-R would get double-figure scoring from Bailey Murphy with 14 points to take scoring honors for the game. Brooklyn Monray also hit double digits with her 11 points and Kairece Morris just missed with nine points.
In the first quarter, the Lady Panthers got four points each from Bailey Murphy and Kairece Morris. Wynot got most of their points from 3-point land. Addison Sharpe hit twice from distance and Haley Wieseler also connected from long range, as Wynot clung to a slim 11-10 lead at the end of the opening period.
Wynot struggled on the offensive end in the second quarter as they only got a second trey by Haley Wieseler and Jaylin Geisen’s lay ups.
The Panthers went on a 20-6 run as they got five points each from Brooklyn Monray and Kairece Morris and a pair of baskets in the paint from Kenna James as the home team built a 30-17 halftime lead.
Both teams went cold in the third quarter, with each scoring only six points. Wynot got field goals from Addison Sharpe and Haley Wieseler, and a pair of free throws from Jordan Foxhoven. Bancroft countered with a basket each from Brooklyn Monay, Bailey Murphy and Kairece Morri, as the Panthers’ lead remained at 36-23 going into the final quarter.
In the final quarter, Wynot continued to struggle against pressure from the Panther guards as they would finish the game with 20 turnovers.
On offense, Jordan Foxhoven got all six of Wynot’s points in the fourth quarter. The Panthers got six points from Bailey Murphy, a basket from Brooklyn Monray and some free throws from Kairece Morris, as they earned the 46-29 win.
