WISNER — The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge speech team took part in the Practice Makes Perfekt Meet in Wisner on Saturday. Three LCC performers earned honors at the event. Laney Folkers earned second place in serious prose. Kolten Settje and Emma Sohler earned first place in duet, with Kolten earning fourth in humorous prose.
The LCC speech team has 15 students competing this year. The local team will compete again Feb. 1 at the Hartington-Newcastle/ Cedar Catholic meet.
On Feb. 7 the team will compete in Wakefield and will travel to Wayne State College on Feb. 8, before heading to Wausa Feb. 15. On Feb. 22 the local squad will head back to Wisner. LCC will have their home event March 1 and travels to Creighton March 8 before they host the GNAC Conference meet on March 10.
District competition will be at Schuyler on March 22. The State meet will be held March 27 in Kearney.
