Plans being made for annual Appreciation Banquet here

LAUREL — Three local groups are once again working together to put on the Laurel Community Chamber and Agribusiness Appreciation Banquet.

The annual event will take place Friday, Jan. 31 at the Laurel Community Center.

The banquet is being organized jointly by the Laurel Chamber Community Club, the Laurel- Concord-Coleridge FFA Chapter and LCC FFA alumni. The evening will begin with a 5:30 p.m. social and networking hour.

During that time, attendees can also take in the vendor displays, enjoy appetizers from Laurel’s Hometown Market and beverages from the Laurel VFW Club. Local musician Dale White will also be performing at that time.

The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with LCC FFA and FFA alumni presentations and a Laurel Chamber Community Club presentation.

Those will be followed by the evening’s featured speaker, Dr. Tom Field, Director of the UNL Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship program.

A prime rib dinner will then be served at 7:30 p.m.

Special recognition and awards will follow at 8:30 p.m. These will include recognition of past Farm Family and Agribusiness award recipients. The 2024 Farm Family of the Year, and the Agribusiness of the Year awards will then be handed out.

The evening will conclude with a performance by regional country music star Dylan Bloom.

Tickets can be purchased at the LCC School, Citizen’s State Bank or Security Bank.

Anyone with more questions about the event can contact Craig Gutz at 402-360-3954 or Annie McCorkindale at 402841-7201.
