RANDOLPH –School board members were provided a summary regarding the status of the school bond issue Monday night.
The board had previously agreed on moving forward this summer with roof repair work needed at the high school, utilizing its special building fund. Next month, the board will take action on putting that project to bid.
The buildings and grounds committee put together a sketch of a scaled-down version of a new Career Technical Education building to house its ag program and Fakler Architects is drafting building plans that will be available next month.
Schrunk said some board members and the district’s kitchen manager will be making plans to visit other area schools who utilize a warming/serving kitchen. A serving kitchen addition at the elementary building is part of the school bond issue proposal.
A town hall meeting to discuss an updated school bond proposal is set for 7 p.m., Wedneday, Feb. 26.
The board may vote to move forward on setting a special election for the bond at its March meeting to prepare for a May election.
Voters narrowly defeated a $9.75 million bond issue in November that would’ve provided updates at the elemenary building, high school building, and provided for a new 13,000-square-foot Career Technical Education/Ag building.
