ALLEN — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils took on the Tri-County Northeast Lady Wolfpack Thursday.
The Lady Blue Devils got off to a slow start but got it going after the mid -point of the first quarter as they rolled to the 63-41 win.
Wynot outscored the Lady Wolfpack 29-14 in the second half to improve their season record to 5-4.
Wynot was led by Kenna Oligmueller who took scoring honors for the game with 24 points. Addison Sharpe continues to provide offense from the perimeter connecting for four three pointers for her 12 points in the game and Jaylin Geisen and Kiera Heimes each contributed eight points to the win.
Tri-County got double figure scoring from Joslyn Macklin with 12 points and Briley Anderson worked the paint for her 10 points. Mica Tornez finished with 9 points for the game.
Tri-County would start out hot as they built a 13-2 lead in the first five minutes of the game. Briley Anderson worked the offensive glass for six points early. Joslyn Mackling hit a pair of buckets and Myleah Mackling drained a three pointer to fuel the Lady Wolfpack run. Wynot started to find the basket late in the opening quarter. Lead by 8 points from Kenna Oligmueller and a three pointer by Jaylin Giesen the Lady Blue Devils tied the score at 15-15 at the end of the first quarter of play.
In the second quarter Kenna Oligmueller would hit for nine more points and Addison Sharpe rained in a pair of long three pointers as Wynot went on a 19-12 run to lead 34-27 at halftime. Tri County hung around getting seven points from Mica Tornez and a three pointer from Emily Mitchell.
In the third quarter Wynot heated up from distance. Addison Sharpe hit twice more from behind the arch and Haley Wieseler and Kiera Heimes also hit a three pointer. Oligmueller worked the inside for five more points, as well.
Wynot full court pressure was wearing the Lady Wolpack down as they were held to just five points in the period.
Joslyn Mackling connected from the field twice and Emily Mitchell hit a basket as well for Tri-County in the fourth. Wynot got a second three pointer from Kiera Heimes as reserves mopped up in the final minutes with Wynot earning the 63-41 win.
