HARTINGTON — After 35 years of dedicated service to the community, Gary and Lisa Kruse have made the decision to sell Kruse True Value.
While this marks the end of an era, it also ushers in an exciting new chapter for the Kruses, the store and the community.
Since founding Kruse True Value in 1990, Gary and Lisa have remained committed to offering top-quality products and services, all while nurturing strong relationships within the community. They are deeply grateful for the loyalty of their customers, the dedication of their employees, and the support of local partners, which has made their journey so fulfilling.
The Kruses have agreed to sell the business to Gregg and Nikki Peters, owners of a locally operated, family-owned business based in Vermillion, S.D.
Gregg and Nikki, along with their three children, founded Vermillion Ace Hardware in 1999. Since then, they have expanded with additional locations in Madison, Parker and Elk Point, S.D., as well as in Sioux City, Iowa.
Although ownership is transitioning, Gary and Lisa remain dedicated to ensuring a seamless handoff.
They, and their staff, will continue to be involved in the business for the next few years to facilitate the transition and maintain the level of service customers have come to expect.
They are excited for the future of the new Hartington Ace Hardware under the leadership of Gregg and Nikki Peters, confident their team will uphold the traditions that have made Kruse True Value a beloved institution.
In the near future, customers can look forward to store improvements, including a store makeover and the addition of thousands of new hardware items from Ace Hardware.
The Kruses extend their heartfelt thanks to the community for its unwavering loyalty and support over the years. They are eager to stay involved and ensure the legacy of Kruse True Value continues to flourish for years to come.
