Spectators watch on Oct. 24 as the Skylon Ballroom is eased off of the foundation where it had sat since 1952. The ballroom took a slow ride to the west where it was eventually set down in the new Hartington business park, located just to the west of Bomgaars. The Skylon is now in the process of being purchased by the city to be used as a community event center. The plight of the 72 year-old facility was the top story of the year here in 2024.
