Wynot cranks up the offense against the Knights

WYNOT — The Wynot Blue Devils would pick up a Lewis and Clark Conference win on Tuesday as they easily handled the Homer Knights 72-32.

Wynot would play their entire bench in this one placing 11 players in the scoring column lead by double figures from four players. Andrew Haberman hit for 14 points, Killian Steinhaus had a big first half with 13 points while Nixon Heimes finished with 12 counter and Devin Brummer chipped in with 11 points.

Homer was led by Joseph Snowball who hit a trio of three pointers on his way to 11 points and Leidy Hunter would finish with seven points for the visiting Knight.

In the first quarter Wynot got seven quick points from Killian Steinhaus, five points from Nixon Heimes and a pair of baskets each from Kotner Koch and Justin Heimes as they roared out the gate to a 24-7 early lead. Joseph Snowball had a three pointer for the visiting Knights.

It was more of the same in the second quarter. Snowball hit a second trey for the visitors and Leidy Hunter and Steve Harris had a basket each.

Wynot stayed hot getting four more points each from Killian Steinhaus and Devin Brummer and a basket plus one by Nixon Heimes as they increased their advantage to 40-15 at the half.

After intermission the Blue Devils kept the pressure on as their full court press led to several easy transition buckets. Devin Brummer and Andrew Haberman each hit for seven points and a basket each from Justin Heimes and Nixson fueled another 22-10 run to increase the Blue Devils lead to 62- 25 at the end of the third period.

Joseph Snowball hit this third trey of the night and Leidy Hunter hit a basket for the Knights but they kept losing ground.

In the final quarter Homer would get four points each from Junius Snowball and Aayden Harris. Wynot got a bucket each from Killian Steinhaus, Nixson Heimes, Kotner Koch, Kasen Koch and Carter Hans as they sped to the lopsided 72-39 win.

Wynot traveled to Wausa this past Friday to battle the Vikings in a double header.
