HARTINGTON — Cedar Catholic’s one-act play, “Something’s Rotten in the State of Denmark,” grasped the District title last Tuesday, Nov. 30, and has earned the chance to perform for the state championship.

HARTINGTON — Steve Dreesen was in the right place at the right time again this Holiday season. Dreesen was the big winner in the final Holiday Christmas drawing of 1993. He won a Santa-sized sack full of Christmas gifts in that drawing.
Dreesen was the lucky winner last Wednesday night as he walked away with $150 in Hartington Holiday Bonus Bucks.

HARTINGTON — Greg Heimes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Heimes of Hartington, was declared the first place winner of the local VFW Post #5283 Voice of Democracy contest Nov. 29. Greg is a senior at Cedar Catholic High School. This year’s theme is “My Vision for America.”

HARTINGTON—The recent warm weather in northeast Nebraska has allowed local landscapers and contractors to extend their work season.
The 40 and 50-degree plus weather has allowed local nurseries and landscapers to continue work.

LINCOLN - A local judge’s courtroom behavior has drawn the attention of the Judicial Qualifications Commissions.
The Nebraska Commission on Judicial Qualifications filed a complaint against Northeast Nebraska District Judge Maurice Redmond bearing on his fitness to preside over the courts in his district.
A hearing in the matter has been set for March 29. The hearing will be held in the Northeast Neb. District in which Redmond serves, but no location has yet been named.
