COLERIDGE — The Coleridge area which had been getting accustomed to a pleasant late fall were given a preview of future winter weather last week when temperatures took a downward plunge.
In registering the first real cold temperatures of the season the mercury plunged to zero on Thursday and to a minus five below on Friday.

COLERIDGE — Head basketball coach Percy Stielow announced this week practice for the 1969-70 season is now underway. He reported 31 boys had reported which included seven lettermen.

COLERIDGE — A cornpicking bee was held at the Waldine Krei farm northeast of town Thursday when 66 men picked about 12,000 bushels from 145 acres of corn.
Twenty pickers, eight elevators and a large number of wagons were used.
