WAYNE — The Wayne Zone LWML Fall Rally was held Oct. 15 at Grace Lutheran Church.
The morning was started with Jan Casey playing the hymn.
The group was welcomed by Ellen Heinemann, president of the Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid.
Opening devotion was led by Pastor Paul Hammes based on 1Corthians 13:4-8. God is Good all the Time.
Several women presented a skit inviting us all to attend the 2025 National LWML Convention at the CHI center in Omaha, NE on June 26-29, 2025.
Following a short break Mick Onnen, the Nebraska District Response Coordinator presented a very informative presentation about the work of the Disaster Response teams and how we can be trained to help nation wide following disasters. He shared slides showing the destruction following the spring Elkhorn tornadoes and the June flooding in Hawarden and Spencer, IA. Also showed many slides showing the clean-up in both locations. He also shared about the training and need for chain saw training and deployment.
Pastor Hill asked the blessing before our noon meal. A lunch of spaghetti pie, Caesar salad and desserts was enjoyed.
President Rhonda Sebade called the business meeting to order. Pastor Hill blessed the ingathering of cleaning buckets filled with cleaning supplies along with cash donations of $1040.
Minutes of the Fall Rally 2023 were read and approved.
Treasurer report was given by Pat Von Minden. Balance on hand $953.44 Pat Glover and Claire Broen audited the treasurer books and found them to be in order.
President Rhonda Sebade asked for nominations from the floor for president and treasurer. Sheila Floyd was nominated and she accepted the nomination to place her name on the ballot for the office of LWML president. Sheila was elected for a two-year term of President.

LaDonna Stanocheck sent a written district report which Rhonda Sebade read. District convention June 2024 was well attended and donations were very generous. Each of the five Christian Schools in the district received five cases of copy paper and a check for $850.
The next District convention will be held at Good Shepard Church, Gretna, NE on June 26 and 27, 2026.
Claire Brogren, Winside will be the delegate to the 2025 Omaha convention.
There are plans for a bus to the Omaha convention. Check the leaguer for more information.
There are only four societies in our zone that are able to host a Spring Workshop or a Fall Rally.
The spring 2025 workshop will be hosted by Hope Lutheran, South Sioux City, and the 2025 Fall Rally will be held at Trinity, Martinsburg. 2026 Spring Workshop will be held at Grace Lutheran, Wayne and the 2026 Fall Rally will be held at Laurel.
Each society shared how they observed LWML Sunday. Martinsburg made and gave Scripture Jars to families. They also observed Pastor Appreciation by serving cake following the service. Immanuel at Laurel served brunch following the service. Hope Lutheran, South Sioux City made the LWML banner. Grace Lutheran, Wayne handed out the large mite boxes, and purchased altar flowers.
Pastor Hill installed the new officers, Sheila Floyd as president and Kathleen Johs as treasurer.
The next board meeting will be Jan. 14, at Grace Lutheran Fellowship Hall, Wayne.
Pastor Buchhorn gave a closing devotion on Mark 1:31. Putting skills into action. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
