LAUREL — Area residents are invited to attend a pair of community Veteran’s Day programs Monday.
A special program will be held at 9 a.m. at the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge High School gym.
A Veterans’ Day program is slated to begin at 10:45 a.m. at the LCC Middle School in Coleridge.
LCC Student Council President Carter Korth will give the welcome for the Laurel program.
The Presentation of the Colors will then be presented by the Laurel American Legion and VFW.
The LCC choir will perform the national anthem with the LCC high school band performing “Armed Forces on Parade.”
The third, fourth and fifth graders will sing “One Nation,” by Teresa Jennings.
LCC Student Council secretary Kolten Settje will introduce the day’s speaker, Steve Luedtke.
Following the speaker, Kate Tasler, LCC high school student council vice president, will announce the next musical number “Armed Forces Medley.”
LCC high school student council member Kennedy Hall will read the closing address of the program, with “Taps” being played by Koby Detlefsen, Christian Staples, Dreyson Puppe and Jenna Gewock.
The retirement of the colors will be by the Laurel American Legion and VFW.
In Coleridge, Willa Roberts will welcome everyone to the event and the seventh and eighth grade band will play the Star Spangeled Banner. Turner Thompson will then lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The LCC 6-8 grade choir will perform “America the Beautiful” and Nora Specht will read the closing address before “Taps” is played.
