RANDOLPH –The Lied Randolph Public Library is inviting the community to participate in its events during November the season of gratitude.
“The Lied Randolph Public Library is more than just a place to borrow books; it’s a community hub that thrives on the support and generosity of the people of Randolph,” said Library Director Peggy Leiting. “As we reflect on the past month’s activities and look forward to the upcoming events, we are reminded of the incredible community spirit that makes our library a special place.”
Local businesses, individuals and clubs continue to contribute to the library’s growth and outreach efforts, she said.
A recent donation from AJ’s Coffee and Pfanny’s Farm enabled the library to purchase an array of books that were then gifted to children during the annual PumpkinFest.
“The children’s faces lit up with joy as they received their new books, fostering a love for reading from an early age,” Leiting said.
The annual Randolph Woman’s Club Craft Show also raises funds to enhance the children’s library, ensuring the library continues to provide a welcoming and resourceful environment for the youngest of readers, she said.
This month, fifth and sixth graders will be designing and printing 3D models in the library’s MakerSpace. As part of the activity, students will learn about the software it takes to create designs and about the 3D printer.
Along with a 3D printer, the library’s Makerspace is available for the public to use and includes a laser cutter/etcher that can be used on a variety of materials including wood, glass, acrylic, paper, material, leather, and more.
The library has set Tuesday, Nov. 12, as a Craft Day (and night) and patrons can use the Makerspace to craft Christmas ornaments.
“We will be taking appointments and encourage you to grab a friend and come in and enjoy some time creating and some refreshments,” Letting said.
Book clubs continue for both elementary and high school students, as well as Chess Club open to all ages.
The library will be closed in honor of Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11.
