Voters choose three for school board

HARTINGTON — Preliminary results indicate Hartington-Newcastle School patrons returned two incumbents to office and selected Brett Wiedenfeld to join them on the board.

No Dixon County vote totals were available at press time, but Cedar County returns indicate Wiedenfeld received the most votes of any candidate with 1,293 in Cedar County.

Incumbents Aaron Fuelberth and Jason Heikes were the next biggest vote-getters with 1,180 and 1,032 Cedar County votes, respectively. Brice Grutsch finished fourth with 730 votes.

Wiedenfeld, who works at the Bank of Hartington, will replace Dana Rosener on the Board. Rosener decided not to seek another term on the board after serving several terms on the Newcastle and then the Hartington- Newcastle School Board.

Hartington City Council members Roman Becker and Chris Bartling both ran unopposed for another term on the Council.

Hartington Airport Authority Board members Gayle Hochstein and Darrell Kathol were also both unopposed.

The Coleridge Village Board had six people seeking three spots on the Board. Brenda Lage received the most votes with 183. Tony Kalin and Terrill Cook also earned spots on the board with 152 and 145 votes, respectively. LeRoy Cautrell, Dennis Heitman and Jesse Jackson were also competing for spots on the board.
