COLERIDGE — The American Legion Post #114 and its Auxiliary Unit #114 held their monthly meeting Oct. 7 at the Ççléridge Community Building.
The units jointly recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then they separated and held their monthly meetings.
President V. Gullicksen called the meeting to order. Auxiliary Chaplin D. Meier gavë à reading, and a prayer followed by a moment of silence in memory of our departed. Secretary Brenda Lage called the role with six members responding. She also read the minutes of the August meeting, and they vtere approved as read. Treasurer report was given, V. Gullicksen presented a bill at this time. Motion by D. Meier and seconded by R. Polak to approve the treasurer’s report.
At this time, President Gullicksen updated the members on upcoming District Breakfast to be held in Wisner Oct. 13, and invited everyone to attend if able. The Veterans Administration Home was in contact with us, wondering if we still wanted to help with Bingo March 14? Discussion was held, and it was decided that we will help again this year.
Motion by J. Burbach and seconded by D. Wemhoff to pay Per capita dues were discussed and will be paid the same as last year, plus ordering poppies for next year as well. When we send in membership dues as a group, a transmittal form also needs to be sent in with the payment, so documentation is supported for the membership dues being paid.
Discussion was held on gift ideas for our elderly members for the holidays.
The next meeting will be Nov. 4, 2024 The meeting was adjourned.
