BLOOMFIELD - The Randolph cross country teams competed in the Bloomfield Invite/Lewis & Clark Conference Meet here at Rolling Hills Golf Course Oct. 11.
Homer won both team titles in the conference meet with the Lady Knights taking the title with 15 points and Tri County Northeast second with 33. The Knights won a tight race over Bloomfield/Wausa 24-26.
The Cardinals' three runners had great performances.
Kamdin Worlein ran his season's best time, finishing in 23:09.52 for 39th position while Brecken Shearer crossed the finish mat in 24:52.82 which put him in 45th place.
Brayden Worlein finished in 26:28.77 for 48th place.
Luke Woockman of Bloomfield/ Wausa won the individual L&C title with a time of 17:33.84, his team - mate Ty Freeman was second in 17:53.97.
Lady Cardinal Emily Gilliland was nursing a sore leg at the meet but still ran the 5,000-meter course in 25:30.18 - far from her best time of the year but pretty impressive considering the circumstances.
Lilly Harris of Homer was the individual champion with a time of 20:43.38 with her teammate, Jaedyn Bousquet runner-up in 21:40.55.
In the junior high division of the race, Randolph's Ellie Bartels brought home some hardware. She finished ninth after running the 2,500-meter course with only two weeks of practice.
The high school Cardinals and Lady Cardinal runners will be com - peting in the D-2 District meet at Twin Creeks Golf Course just north of Pender on Oct. 17.
