Cedar County 4-H Sharp Shooters to begin season

HARTINGTON –Is your child interested in learning how to shoot a bow and arrow? Join the Cedar County Sharp Shooters to learn or develop their skills through the 4-H Shooting Sports project. John Brodersen and Aaron Wiechelman are certified leaders and volunteers willing to teach youth the disciplines of archery.

The Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports program offers opportunities for youth to learn safe bow handling skills and sound fundamentals of shooting under the guidance of knowledgeable adult volunteers. It also offers opportunities for competition where youth can exhibit their skills and abilities and compete with other 4-H members from across the state.

To learn more about how to become involved in the Cedar County Sharp Shooters, mark your calendars for an informational archery shooting sports meeting and first practice on Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Cedar County Fairgrounds Open Class building. Beginners will practice at 3 p.m. and experienced shooters will practice at 4 p.m.

The archery program is open to youth ages 8-18 as of Jan. 1, 2025. Some equipment is provided, but if you have your own archery equipment, please bring it to this practice.
