October busy month at library

RANDOLPH – There’s something for everyone at the Lied Randolph Public Library this month with a full slate of activities planned including: - The ‘characTATER’ potato decorating contest. Those entering the contest, need to decorate a potato based on a favorite book character. Entries will be accepted Oct. 21-26 and judged on Oct. 28.

- An escape room designed for those in fourth grade and older will be set up Oct. 28. Participate in teams and sign up for a time.

- Chess Club. This bi-weekly club is open to anyone at any age even those wanting to learn how to play. The next club meeting is set for Thursday, Oct. 24 and will continue into November.

- Two book clubs - one for fourth- through sixth-graders on Thursday, Oct. 17; and the other for teens on Saturday, Oct. 26. Both groups are reading books by middle grade/young adult horror author, Mary Downing Hahn, in anticipation of Halloween. Books are still available for any student who would like to join.
