SUMMERLAND — Laurel-Concord- Coleridge traveled to Summerland for its seventh game of the 2024 season and came away with its sixth loss, 59-14 to the 6-1 Bobcats.
Summerland scored first and often in the game as the Bears were outmatched in this contest.
The Bobcats scored on runs of 46, 49 65 and 19 yards in the first quarter. Toss in an interception return for a touchdown and the score was 38-0 still in the first 12 minutes.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge did answer in the frame when Connor Korth and Drey Puppe hooked up on a 53-yard scoring pass, but the damage was kind of already done.
The Bobcats would add three touchdowns and extra point kicks in the second quarter and the teams went to the intermission with the continuous clock waiting for the second half. The Bears trailed 59-6.
Eli Haisch broke free on a 53-yard samper to the end zone in the third quarter then ran in the conversion to finish the scoring on the night.
Haisch did have a successful night carrying the football. Toting the pigskin 18 times for 128 yards and Tyler Boysen gained 37 yards on his four carries.
Korth led the defensive effort with eight tackles including six solo stops and one tackle behind the line of scrimmage, Haisch had seven tackles.
Kolten Settje was in on five tackles including one tackle for loss and one sack.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will line up for its final regular season game when it will host unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Stanton on Oct. 18 at Haskell Field in Laurel.
