HARTINGTON — Corn-husking has commenced in these parts and some corn will go 70 bushels an acre here. The corn crop of the northwest part of the county can show up with any corn in the state.

On Monday, the local branch, consisting of about 75 members, tendered the visiting delegates a reception at their Hall over Hirschman’s Store. On Tuesday morning, the delegates attended Mass and then attended to the business of their meeting. It was decided the place of the next meeting, which will be held three years hence, will be at Stuart.
ST. HELENA — The school of District 82 commenced Monday Oct. 4 with Miss Lora Stratmann of St. Helena as teacher.
HARTINGTON — The 13th biennial convention of the state Council of the Catholic Knights of America met in this city on Tuesday.
