O’NEILL - The Cedar Catholic girls golf team ended up fifth here at the Mid-State Conference Meet Oct. 3 as the Lady Trojans combined to card a 453.
Wayne won the team title with a 397, Battle Creek was second at 427, O’Neill was third with 433 and Boone Central was five shots in front of Cedar Catholic.
Maggie Dendinger was the top Lady Trojan on the day, firing a 101 which was good enough for sixth.
Wayne’s Joslyn Johnson was the medalist after shooting an 86, Rylee Altwine of Pierce was second at 90 and O’Neill’s Mady Heiss was third in a scorecard playoff with Charli Sievers of Wayne after each shot a 95.
Camryn Loecker was 15th for the Lady Trojans with a 111, Josie Heine was 27th at 119, Olivia Kleinschmit was 29th with a 122 and Lauren Potts came in 39th after carding a 132.
Cedar Catholic was set to play in the C-3 District Golf Meet on Oct. 8 at the Wayne Country Club.
The top 10 individuals and the top three teams will qualify for next week’s Class C State Golf Championships to be played at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte Oct. 9-10.
