HARTINGTON — The 2024 version of the Hartington-Newcastle gridiorn offense could be on its way to several new school records before the season gets put in the books.
The Wildcats are off to a 5-1 start for the first time since 2014 when the Cats finished the year with a 6-3 mark.
The 2024 Purple and White have already inked their name in the record books by recording the most points of any Wildcat team in school history, defeating Lutheran High Northeast 82-0 in September.
Coach Rusty Fuller’s team has already topped the 50-point mark four times this season. Only two other times in the past 60 years has a Wildcat team completed the entire season with at least four 50-point games under their belt — 2019 and 2016.
This year’s Wildcat team has already amassed more points than the school did in an entire year in three of their last four seasons.
