Luhr to lead Extension water, crop programs in northeast region

WAYNE —Nebraska Extension would like to announce that Nicole Luhr has started as the Water and Cropping System University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension Educator located in Dixon County. Nicole will serve the accountability region of Dixon, Cedar, Knox, and Wayne counties.

Luhr will use innovative strategies and current technologies to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate programs for extension education programming focused on water and cropping production systems. She will also engage in a collaborative-learning environment with crop producers, local stakeholders, advisory groups, local leaders and community members to build positive relationships between the University of Nebraska and the community.

Luhr grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota. For the past 12 years she has lived with her family in northeast Nebraska, as part of a row crop operation with corn, soybeans, and alfalfa in addition to beef cattle. Her bachelor’s degree is in agri-business and master’s is in entomology.

Luhr can be reached via email at [email protected] and at 402-584-2234.
