Woman charged with felony gun possession

HARTINGTON – A Yankton woman is facing a felony weapon charge after she allegedly threatened a man with a gun.

Denise Fry, 55, was arrested after an incident at a St. Helena residence Aug. 31. Law enforcement responded to the report from a third party that Fry had made threats that the man would be dead within 45 minutes. A loaded gun was found on the ground at the residence although the man and the woman indicated there had only been a verbal dispute and not an assault.

Ultimately Fry was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. She was released after posting bond and is set to appear in Cedar County District Court later this month.
