Jones' vehicles will go up for auction

HARTINGTON – Two vehicles owned by Jason Jones are up on the auction block.

A 2005 white Ford Mustang and a 2007 black Hummer H3 will be up for sale to the highest bidder for cash at Hansen Brothers in Laurel.

The auction is set for 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1.

According to court documents filed in Cedar County Court, Jones owes more than $14,000 to Hansen Brothers for services rendered. The court ordered the sheriff to seize any and all assets to satisfy the debts including the vehicles.

Jason Jones was convicted by a jury last month of murdering Gene Twiford, his wife, Janet, and their daughter, Dana, along with another Laurel woman, Michele Ebeling, and setting their homes on fire on Aug. 4, 2022. The jury also found the murders to be aggravated, making him eligible for the death penalty. A three-judge panel have yet to decide his fate - life in prison or death.
