CROFTON - Randolph’s three cross country runners traveled to Lakeview Golf Course north of here to compete in the Crofton Invitational on Sept. 26. Lady Cardinal Emily Gilliland continues to improve her time in every race and keeps moving up the charts with higher finishes each time she runs.
She used a time of 24-minutes, 58.30 seconds to come in 24th in the girls race.
Callie Fischer of Lutheran High Northeast was the medalist on the girls side with a time of 21:34.37 with Claire Guthmiller of Bon Homme coming in second at 22:13.52.
Crofton won the girls team trophy with 34 points, six spots ahead of Wayne.
Kamdin Worlein and Brecken Shearer also competed and came in 46th and 48th respectively.
Worlein ran the 5-kilometer race in 24:31.72 while Shearer came in at 24:52.41.
Luke Woockman of Bloomfield/ Wausa was the boys champion in 18:09.94 and Norfolk Catholic won the boys’ division with 29 points, two points in front of runner-up Wayne.
The Randolph trio will be running at the Battle Creek Invitational at Evergreen Golf Course on Oct. 4 with the Lewis & Clark Conference Meet set for Oct. 11 at Rolling Hills Country Club near Bloomfield.
