HARTINGTON — Grace Kuchta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kuchta, returned Monday from Valley Forge, Pa. with her former instructor from Holy Trinity School, Sister M. Longina, OSB. The all-expense paid trip for a student-teacher team is part of the school’s award for their outstanding programs teaching American citizenship.

HARTINGTON — Jerome Feilmeier was elected president of the Holy Trinity Lettermen’s Club. Gene Peck was named vice president and Jim Geisler was elected secretary-treasurer.

HARTINGTON — Elroy Hefner of Coleridge was elected chairman of the Cedar County Petroleum Industries committee at a meeting of oil dealers here Wednesday.
Mert Olson and Al Sudbeck of Hartington were named committee members.
The oil dealers discussed policies that would be fair to themselves as well as to their customers and the public at large.
Primary objectives of the organization for the coming year include; tax gasoline fairly; protect highway funds; repeal federal gas tax; and match roads funds locally.

CONCORD- More than 400 persons attended the dedication ceremonies for the new headquarters building at the University of Nebraska Northeast Station here Friday, Sept 11.
The new facility was named “Haskell Building” in honor of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Haskell who donated the 320 acres of land for the Station in 1956. Members of the Northeast Nebraska Experimental Farm Association from the 14-county area were honored for their efforts in developing the Station. Sept. 19, 1974
