LAUREL - Laurel-Concord-Coleridge fell to 0-3 for the 2024 campaign with a 36-16 loss to the Tri County Wolfpack on the grid iron here at Haskell Field Sept. 13.
The Wolfpack went up 16-0 before Eli Haisch took off on a run.
When he finished the run, he had scored on a 36-yard ramble to the end zone then after the Bears added the 2-point try, they were back in the game 16-8 in the second quarter, which is the way the half ended.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was back at it in the third quarter and quarterback Gibson Roberts hit Drey Puppe from 11 yards away and after another conversion the game was tied at 16-16.
The score remained tied into the final 12 minutes, but the Wolfpack used a 71-yard pass play to regain the lead at 22-16 after the conversion failed.
Unfortunately, the Bears couldn’t hang on defensively and Tri County Northeast would use a 20-point final quarter to hand the Bears their third loss of the season.
Haisch finished the night with 101 yards and the touchdown in his 16 carries. Roberts ran for 26 on eight carries and Dayton Korth made the most of his two carries going for 21 yards.
Roberts was 9-of-21 throwing the ball for 75 yards and the touchdown, but he did throw an interception and LCC lost a couple of fumbles.
Haisch and Tanner Thompson each recovered a fumble defensively.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will try to find the win column this week in a road game in Norfolk with 0-3 Lutheran High Northeast.
