Gabriel Wicks, Grayson Wicks, Oliver Thelen, Wesley Gubbels, Anna Burbach, Callen Nordhues, and Rhett Beacom were honored at the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten party that was held at the Lied Randolph Public Library Sept. 4. The children enjoyed 'The Book With No Pictures' along with a song and presentation of certificates. They also enjoyed ice cream served by the Friends of the Library. The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program encourages all Randolph families and caregivers to read 1,000 books before entering school. Studies have shown that families who start reading aloud to their children at birth help to strengthen their language skills and build their vocabularytwo important tools for beginning readers. Contact the library for more information or to sign up for the program.
