WYNOT - The Wynot Lady Blue Devil volleyball squad split a couple of matches in its own tournament Sept. 5.
The Lady Blue Devils suffered their first and only loss of the season, dropping a match to unbeaten Crofton in the opening round 25-14 and 25-23 then responded with a sweep over Bloomfield 25-16 and 25-12.
In the sweep over the Lady Bees, Wynot shook off its first loss of the season and got back on track with the relatively easy two-set victory, Kennas Oligmueller, Addison Pinkelman and Joslyn Hochstein paced the Lady Blue Devil attack with eight, seven and six kills respectively.
Sophie Geisen tipped up 23 set assists and rifled home four service aces in the match.
Defensively, Hochstein registered three stuffs at the net, Eliza Lange had a couple and Jordan Foxhoven had one.
Foxhoven and Jaylin Geisen had seven digs apiece, Sophie Geisen had six and Oligmueller dug up four balls.
In the opening round loss to Crofton, the Lady Warriors limited the Wynot offensive attack, holding the Lady Blue Devils to 14 winners in the two sets.
Hochstein hit four kills, Lange and Pinkelman added three each. Lange paced the defense with four blocks at the net, Jaylin Geisen had nine digs.
Wynot was set for a couple of conference home dates. Winside was scheduled to come to town Sept. 10.
