HARTINGTON — Write-in candidates for the county race are making what seemed to be another typical election year anything but that.
Don Hoesing, St. Helena, filed an affidavit Monday to put his name on the November general election ballot as a write-in candidate for Cedar County Assessor.
He is the fourth person this year to announce their intentions to seek election as a write-in.

HARTINGTON- The end of the current Hartington V.F.W. Club will come to an end on Jan. 1, 1995.
At a meeting last Thursday, approximately 30 V.F.W. members discussed what to do next, since deciding to sell their post home to Hartington Telemarketing Inc.

HARTINGTON — The Hartington City Council agreed Tuesday, Sept. 6 to proceed on several big projects around the city.
The Council voted Tuesday to proceed with paving, utility and storm sewer projects to improve the newly platted Greenlee and Country Club Second additions.

HARTINGTON — The Wildcat football team made a smooth transition Saturday night.
Wildcat fans were apprehensive prior to the start of the 1994 season because the HPS team was making a change from 8-man to 11-man football.
There was nothing to worry about, though. Hartington dominated the action most of the night at the Felber Park Athletic Complex as the ‘Cats claimed a big 24-18 win over Bassett-Rock County. All of the visitors’ points came late in the game.

HARTINGTON- Two 1993 Cedar County Raceway point champions recaptured some of that old magic Sunday night.
This racing season has been trying to say the least for 1993 Bomber Division point champ Andy Anderson and Hobby Stock champ Mark Henery. They both finished on a high note with A Feature wins.
