Dolphins continue to make a big splash in the pool

BLAIR — The Hartington Dolphins continued a very successful summer with its biggest win of the season , scoring 513.5 team points in the Blair Invitational to out distance the North Bend Sharks by nearly 200 points.

North Bend ended up second with 319, Blair was third with 306.5 and West Point was fourth with 293.

“It was a very dominant win for us this time,” Dolphins coach Anna Reifenrath said. “We really competed well the entire meet.”

Hartington has won every meet it has competed in, taking its own meet the last time out, a couple of meets in West Point and a meet in Wayne as the Dolphins prepare for the East Husker Conference Meet July 20 back in Blair.

Three Dolphins accounted for 120 of Hartington’s 500-plus points by winning 12 separate individual events.

Piper Dendinger dominated the 8-andunder age division winning the 100 individual medley, the 25 backstroke, the 25 breaststroke and the 25 freestyle.

Eli Cattau flourished in the 9-10 division with a first in the 100 individual medley, a first in the 25 butterfly, a first in the 25 freestyle and a first in the 25 backstroke.

Kyson Lammers dominated over the 1314 age division with first-place finishes in 100 medley, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle.

Lammers joined Emily Climer, Kloe Fischer and Allison Huesers to win the 200 medley relay for 12 team points while Dendinger swam a leg in both, the 100 freestyle relay and 100 medley relay which placed third and fourth respectively for 14 additional team points.

Cattau swam legs in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle which placed second and fourth for 16 additional points.

Hadley Dendinger won the 50 backstroke in the 11-12 age division and placed second in the 100 individual medley, 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle to accumulate 43 points.

Additional individual golds came from Finley O’Brien in the 8-and under 25 butterfly, Fischer in the 50 butterfly, Climer in the 15-18 butterfly and Landry Heimes in the 13-14 breaststroke.

The Dolphins were set for their final tune up before the conference meet with a meet in Wayne on July 15.
