Patrick Hoesing HARTINGTON — Patrick Alan Hoesing, 36, Hartington, died unexpectedly June 27, 2024, at his cabin in the Brooky Bottom area, northeast of Wynot.
Mass of Christian Burial was July 2 at Holy Family (Sts. Peter & Paul) Catholic Church, Bow Valley, with the Rev. Eric Olsen, Rev. Jim Keiter and Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial was at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington, followed by a luncheon at the Skylon Ballroom, Hartington.
Pallbearers were Eric Hoesing, Joe Noecker, Danny Goeden, Nolan Sucha and Nathan Sucha, and Jesse Noecker.
Honorary pallbearers were Ian Rohan, Jacob Rohan, Marshall Wiebelhaus, T.J. Jansen, Reid Kathol, Tony McTaggart, Todd Bottolfsen, Keith Goeden, Eric Schulte and Brandon Sudbeck.
Visitation was Monday, at church, and continued one hour prior to services Tuesday.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Patrick Alan was born April 1, 1988, in Yankton, S.D., to Alan Francis and Jean Marie (Arens) Hoesing. He grew up in Hartington, graduating from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School in 2007. He went to the University of Nebraska, Kearney, and earned a bachelor’s degree in business. Patrick moved back to Hartington and began operating several businesses – Northeast Hay Grinding, Cedar Beef and 13 Crushing (in Tabor, S.D.). Patrick was willing to take many employees under his wing and give them a job. Patrick married Megan Lea Sucha July 21, 2018, in Bow Valley.
Patrick was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Bow Valley, and Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, while growing up. He played baseball in his younger years and had a love for all sports. In high school, Patrick was very active in FFA, played football, wrestled, and was influential in starting the wrestling program. Patrick loved his family and his children. He loved being at his cabin at Brooky Bottom and entertaining his family and friends. He and Megan enjoyed dressing up for Halloween, and often times would coordinate their outfits when they went out on other occasions. Patrick was very thoughtful when it came to people’s birthdays and special occasions, and made an effort to ensure they knew he was thinking of them. Patrick was a very passionate man in everything he did.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Megan, Hartington; three children, Jett Sucha, Remi Hoesing and Paxten Hoesing, at home; parents, Al and Jean Hoesing, Hartington; three siblings Caitlyn (Danny) Goeden, Brookings, S.D.; Shayna (Joe) Noecker, Hartington; Eric Hoesing, Hartington; maternal grandmother, Arlene Arens, Hartington; nieces and nephews, Nora and Garrett Goeden, W atson and Jori Noecker, Brookes and Oaklee Sucha; and many aunts and uncles.
Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hilary and Bonnie Hoesing; maternal grandfather, Roman Arens; an uncle, David Hoesing; and aunt, Ann Rooney.
