RANDOLPH – Nominations are being sought for Queen Bee and other community awards for the upcoming Randolph Community Fair.

Randolph’s Community Fair is set for Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14.

Queen Bee nominations are being taken through Monday, July 1, to recognize a Randolph woman who is a true community supporter.

The Queen Bee will be crowned on the opening night of the fair and reign as royalty over Fair festivities.

The Queen Bee award began last year as a nod to Randolph’s heritage as the Honey Capital of the Nation. Sandra Kuhlman served as the first Queen Bee.

Nomination forms can be found at the city office or library, or online at the Community Fair Facebook page.

Nominations are also being sought for the fair’s Good Neighbor Award, Employee of the Year Award and Outstanding Farm Family Award. These nominations are due Monday, July 8.

The Good Neighbor Award will be awarded to an individual deemed an asset to the community or to a specific neighborhood. The individual should be helpful, generous, sharing or creative, or an individual who donates their time and talent willingly.

The Employee of the Year Award will be given to an individual deemed dependable, trustworthy and puts forth extra effort, someone who displays a positive attitude on the job, and works above and beyond their duties.

The Outstanding Farm Family Award will be given to a family which is an asset to the community or to their rural neighborhood, helpful, generous, and play an active part in community organizations. The family awarded should show pride and commitment to farm life.

Last year, Jim Scott received the Good Neighbor Award; Bill Fye, Employee of the Year; and Mark and Kathie Nordhues, Farm Family Award.

These nominations should include a brief description of the individual or family. Entries must be submitted to ROAR by mail at PO Box 725, or dropped off at First State Bank. Entries should include the nominator’s name and contact information.
