LINCOLN — A group of farm owners from Cedar County made a trip to Lincoln by chartered bus last week for a tour of the agricultural college. Arrangements for the trip were made by Herman Renze, county FHA supervisor and R. E. Weir, county agent.

HARTINGTON — The Hartington Fire Department answered two hurried fire calls early Monday evening that occurred about the same time.
About 5:45 p.m., a brush fire started on the lot north of the Robert Wagner home in Hartington. After the firemen extinguished that blaze they were called to the Elno Kinkaid farm about a mile and a half south of the Pleasant Valley store where some corn in a ring-type crib was burning.
