HARTINGTON — Hartington City Council Tuesday night opened the sealed bids for the construction of the Fire Hall. The Council accepted Emery Hoesing’s bid of $27,000, plus an additional $210 for filling the basement of the site. Of the two bids received by the Council, Hoesing submitted the lowest. The only other bidder was Bleyhl Construction of Norfolk with a bid of $27,780.
The project consists of the construction of an equipment room for four trucks, a meeting room, toilet room and maintenance shop for municipal equipment.
The building, which will be located just east of the City Auditorium on the site of the old Congregational Church, is to have a concrete floor, concrete brick walls, wood overhead doors and steel joists and roof deck. The plans also include an apron of concrete paving. The architect’s estimate of construction costs was $30,000.
