Cedar County 4-H Presentations Contest winners announced

HARTINGTON – The Cedar County 4-H Presentation Contest was held May 28 at the Cedar County Extension Office. 4-H members gave presentations using multimedia illustrations. An Illustrated Presentation is a live talk where participants use visual aids (such as props, posters, computer-based visuals, handouts, video, etc.) to demonstrate and explain a topic.

HARTINGTON — The Cedar County 4-H Presentation Contest was held May 28 at the Cedar County Extension Office. 4-H members gave presentations using multimedia illustrations. An Illustrated Presentation is a live talk where participants use visual aids (such as props, posters, computer-based visuals, handouts, video, etc.) to demonstrate and explain a topic.

Following each presentation the judge and audience were given t he opportunity to ask the 4-H members questions about their presen tation subject.

The contest serves as an excellent platform for youth to exhibi t their communication skills and learning. Six outstanding presentatio ns were presented to family and friends.

Brooklyn Heimes, daughter of Julie and Steve Heimes, Wynot, received a Clover Kid rainbow ribbon for her presentation on “How to Do a Cartwheel.”

Robbie Wuebben, son of Anne and Craig Wuebben, Fordyce, received a Clover Kid rainbow ribbon for his presentation on “How to Cha nge a Battery.”

Heidi Lewon, daughter of Brooke and Mitch Lewon, Newcastle, received a purple ribbon on her junior presentation on “How to Make Home made Potato Salad.”

Clara Wuebben, daughter of Anne and Craig Wuebben, Fordyce, received a purple ribbon for her junior presentation on “Classic Banana Split.”

Tenley Schmit, daughter of Jessica and Nick Schmit, Coleridge, received a purple ribbon for her intermediate presentation on “Ham & Pic kle Roll Ups.”

Ava Stewart, daughter of Austin and Laura Stewart, Newcastle, received a purple ribbon for her senior presentation on “Weaning & Stres s Relief in Beef Cattle.” She also received the medal for the Ov erall Champion Presentation.

Heidi Lemon, ClaraWuebben, Tenley Schmit and Ava Stewart are all eligible to represent Cedar County at the State Premier Communi cation Event June 17-18 in Lincoln.

Kim Bearnes, Laurel, was the judge and provided excellent comments and encouragement to all the participants.
