LAUREL — The Laurel veterans received a $10,000 donation recently from Security Bank toward the Laurel Area Veterans Memorial honoring past, present and future veterans. American Legion Post 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4504 members recently kicked off a capital campaign for a Laurel Area Veterans Memorial. The memorial will be located on the property just east of the Laurel Community Center. All donated funds for the Laurel Area Veterans Memorial will be processed through the Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF). Donations may be made directly by accessing NCF’s website at tinyurl. com/laurelvets. Click on the red “Donate to this Fund” button. A “Designation” drop-down menu will appear. Select “Laurel Area Veterans Memorial” as your designation and proceed. Individuals, organizations or businesses who prefer to mail their donations or pledges are encouraged to utilize the form found in the Laurel Area Veterans Memorial brochure. Brochures are available from American Legion Post 54 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4504 members, as well as the following local businesses: Security Bank, Galyen Boettcher Baier PC LLO, Citizens State Bank and Laurel Hometown Market. Please make checks payable to the Laurel Area Community Foundation Fund. Donations or pledges may be mailed to: Laurel Area Community Foundation Fund, P.O. Box 278, Laurel, NE 68745. You also may drop off your check/pledge at Security Bank, attention Keith Knudsen, LACFF Chairman. The Laurel Area Community Foundation Fund (LACFF) is an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation.
