Four candidates to face off in general

Four candidates to face off in general

RANDOLPH – Walter Worlein may not be Randolph’s next city councilman, but he’s not ruling out running again in the future.

Worlein received the least amount of votes in the May 14 primary election and was eliminated from the Randolph City Council race. “My name isn’t as thick in this town as others on there,” he said after getting news of the results. The four remaining candidates – Todd Greiner, Brandon Backhaus, Kayla Korth and Tom Wiese – will move on to the general election. In the primary, Greiner was the top vote-getter with 207; followed by Backhaus with 168; Korth with 105; and Wiese with 94. Korth said all of the candidates bring something different to the table and would be good representatives. She’s grateful for gaining enough votes to move on to the next election.

“I feel like people know I have a voice and speak up on any issues they have. They trust me to listen to them and see different sides of the table as well,” she said.

Korth said she’s not sure what her next move will be with her campaign.

She’s open to meeting with people and learning about their issues.

“I like to sit down with people,” she said. “I’m a talker, face to face, so I can hear what they want, what they’re looking for in a candidate.”
