PONCA - The Wynot Blue Devil and Lady Blue Devil track teams competed in the Lewis & Clark Conference Track and Field Meet here on April 27 with the Blue Devils placing 12th and the Lady Blue Devils coming in 10th.
Ponca took the team titles in the two divisions with 99 points posted by the Lady Indians and 93.5 for the Indians.
Homer was the runner-up for the girls and Bloomfield was the runner-up for the boys with 87 and 84 points respectively.
The Blue Devils tallied 32 points on the day while the Lady Blue Devils put up 24.
Chase Schroeder and Dylan Heine did most of the damage for the Wynot boys.
Schroeder won the 800 with a time of 2-minutes-5.47 seconds and placed sixth in the 400.
Heine was second in the high jump, clearing 6-feet and was third in the triple jump with a best of 41-06.4.
The pair of seniors joined with sophomore Jed Nelson and senior Korbin Guenther to grab fourth in the 4X800 relay.
Kinslee Heimes and Myrah Sudbeck led the Lady Blue Devils.
Sudbeck was fourth in the 100 with teammate Eliza Lange coming in eighth.
Sudbeck placed fourth in the 800 after just missing a medal in the 400 where she placed ninth.
Heimes, Lange and Sudbeck teamed up with Kiera Heimes to finish second in the 4X400 relay, circling the track four times in 4:49.93. Ponca won the event in 4:20.48.
The 4X100 team of Kinslee Heimes, Lange, Sudbeck and Annika Heimes placed fourth with a time of 54.19.
Wynot will head to Laurel for the Winside Invitational on May 2. The teams will travel to Hartington May 8 for the D-3 District meet.
