District Music Contest

Randolph music students participated in the District Music Contest in Osmond Friday including the Jazz Ensemble (pictured above under the direction of Andrew Schultz), Matthew Schultz (above left) with a tuba solo, and Brayden Shearer (above right) on drums. Other groups and soloists performed including a saxophone trio made up of Justin Guenther, Nicole Haselhorst and Grace Drahota; a bass trio with Matthew Schultz, Kody Junck and Ryan Engel; a mixed trio of Jacey Bartels, Guenther and Matthew Schultz; tuba duet with Bartels and Matthew Schultz; Guenther, saxophone solo; and Matthew Schultz, tuba solo. The Jazz Ensemble included Guenther, Haselhorst, Drahota, Justin Backer, Ryan Engel, Kody Junck, Dylan Schutt, Bartels, Matthew Schultz, Shearer, Brayden Worlein and Chase Junck. All of the solos and groups received a ‘I’ rating while the jazz ensemble received a ‘II.’
