O’NEILL — Hartington-Newcastle headed west for a golf invitational April 18, when it traveled to O’Neill for the Eagles’ invitational.

The Wildcats ended up 11th in the field of 14 after carding a team-total of 399. Ord won the title with a 348, O’Neill was second just one shot back, Neligh-Oakdale was third at 355, West Holt fourth at 359 and North Central was fifth with a 366.

“It was another cold and windy day out there,” HNS coach, Mike Johnson said. “We made some strides as a team in the meet and I thought the kids hung in there and did a good job of battling the weather conditions and the golf course.”

Ord’s Rowe Lilienthal was the individual champion with a 77.

Riley Sudbeck paced the Wildcats after carding a 94, which was good enough for 24th over 18 holes.

Carter Kelly fired a 96 to end in 30th place, Dayton Sudbeck was 41st with a 99, Barrett Bruning was in 58th with a 110, and Austin Sudbeck rounded out the team scoring with a 123.
