LAUREL — Laurel-Concord-Coleridge golf coach Pat Harrington welcomed three returning golfers from last year’s team, which will make a good nucleus for this season as the Bears look to improve heading into the 2024 campaign.

Two seniors, Jackson Hall and Bradyn Urwiler, return for Harrington along with sophomore Kolten Settje, and all three saw a lot of action last season.

Hall finished 17th at last year’s District meet and Urwiler placed 15th at the Lewis and Clark Conference Golf Meet as a junior.

Numbers are a luxury Harrington will enjoy this season as five freshmen and a junior join the team for the first time.

Eli Haisch is out for golf this season along with the five freshmen: Tanner Thompson, Talon Carson, Kyle Rasmussen, Cade Johnson and Ian Sohler.

“We have a really good group with a good mix of young guys who are looking to get better and push our two older returners, who have goals for State berths,” Harrington said.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will enjoy some home cooking, opening the season with two meets at the Cedar View Country Club.

The Bears will host a triangular with Creighton and Randolph on April 9 before hosting the LCC Invitational on April 11. The Plainview Invitational follows on April 13 before LCC heads north to the Hartington Invitational on April 23.

Cedar View will be the site for another triangular, this one with Hartington-Newcastle and Ponca on April 25, before the Bears play in the Pierce Invitational on April 27. The Lewis and Clark Conference Golf Meet will be played in Randolph on April 29 and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will open the next month in the Wayne Invitational on May 2 before finishing the regular season at the Randolph Invitational on May 6 and the Wakefield Invitational on May 7 in Wayne.

The Bears are set to tee off for postseason play in the C-3 District Golf Meet in Hartington on May 14, with the Class C Nebraska Golf Championships slated for May 21-22 at the Elks Country Club in Columbus.
