HARTINGTON — J. G. Beste, Hartington, is being favorably mentioned throughout this district as a delegate to the National Convention to be held in July in St. Louis.

HARTINGTON — Charles Webber recently returned from Parkersburg where he was summoned after his wife passed away while visiting her parents.

HARTINGTON — Attorney C. E. Haley filed as a non-political candidate for county judge. His entry made it a three-person contest. Judge Bryant and Otto Enerson have already filed.

HARTINGTON — Frank Smith, of Newcastle, has recently purchased the soft drink parlor that has been operated several years by A. T. Duman.

HARTINGTON — Coach E.L. Craig and his basketball team left on the Wednesday morning train for Lincoln where the team will play in the state tournament.

The team will play its first game this afternoon at 5:20 with the Teacher’s College team of Lincoln.

Hartington is in Class F. There are 250 basketball teams in the tournament and some fast basketball will be played during the three days of the tournament.

Coach Craig has developed a fast team this year and it will no doubt make a good showing at the tournament.

The following men were taken to Lincoln: Capt. Colburn Olsen, Earnest Olsen, Axel Johnson, Leslie Steinbach, Harold Dodge, Howard Stark, Lawrence Aspen, and Howard Jacobsen.

HARTINGTON — Dr. F.P. Dorsey has begun the work of remodeling his building purchased last year from R.G. Easley and recently vacated by M.G. Fisch and expects to have it in readiness for occupancy in a few weeks.

There are five good large rooms in the building which when renovated will give the doctor one of the finest offices in Cedar County. The whole interior is being painted in soft shades of brown and tan, the wood work will be in harmonizing shades and dainty curtains will complete the decorations. The building will be made entirely modern and when completed be an office such as Dr. Dorsey has dreamed of for years.
