Spelling Bee winners are announced — The overall winners at the second annual Laurel-Concord-Coleridge spelling bee for grades K-8 were: Aizlynn Kossler, third place; Tenlie Christiansen, second place; and Alyza Leonard, first place.

LAUREL — The second annual Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Spelling Bee for grades K-8 was held on Jan.

29 at the Laurel Community Center.

The champion will continue on to the Scripps Regional Bee in Omaha.

The overall winner was Alyza Leonard. Tenlie Christiansen was second and Aizlynn Kossler took third.

Individual winners in the various grades were also recognized after the event.

Sixth-grade winners at the LCC Spelling Bee for grades K-8 were: Sophia Newton, third place; Elle White, second place; and Stella Graham, first place.

Fifth-grade winners at the LCC Spelling Bee for grades K-8 were: ReubenBadley,thirdplace;AizlynnKossler,secondplace;andTenlie Christiansen, first place.

Fourth-grade winners at the LCC Spelling Bee for grades K-8 were: Myrtie McCorkindale, second place; Isabella Lawyer, first place; and Adelaide Clegg, third place.

Seventh-gradewinnersattheLCC spelling bee for grades K-8 were: Nolan Nordby, first place; and Trystan Sims, second place.

Eighth-graderAlyzaLeonardwas crowned as the overall spelling champion during the LCC Spelling Bee.
