WISNER - Laurel-Concord-Coleridge dropped its final game of the regular season in girls basketball.
Wisner-Pilger surprised the Lady Bears with a come-frombehind win in overtime, 59-58 to leave Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at 14-8 heading into this week’s Sub-District tournament.
After the Lady Bears led 1814 after the first eight minutes, Wisner-Pilger used a 21-14 second frame to stake a 35-32 advantage into the halftime locker room.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge reestablished the lead in the third quarter, but the Lady Gators came back to tie the score in the fourth, 54-54 then outscored LCC 5-4 in the extra four minutes to steal the game.
The Lady Bears hit double digits in the contest led by senior, Mallory Eriksen’s 19.
She was followed by freshman, Rena Rasmussen who put in 16 and junior, Tali Erwin, who tossed in 10.
Rasmussen and Lainey Schutte each pulled down nine missed shots, Eriksen tallied seven caroms. Erwin registered three steals.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was set to compete in the C2-6 Sub-District Tournament at Oakland-Craig High school Feb. 13 where the Lady Bears were to take on Homer as the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
Oakland-Craig was the top seed in the tournament and was scheduled to take on the Lady Gators who upended Wakefield to earn the right to play the Lady Knights.
The winners on the 13th will square off Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. back at Oakland.
