FORDYCE — Cedar County’s oldest twins, Edward and Peter Feldhacker, celebrated their 69th birthday last week in Fordyce.

They have lived in Cedar County more than 60 years.

HARTINGTON — Lloyd Beyschau was named president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Luther League.

HARTINGTON — Twenty-six Hartington High School students have been named “outstanding scholastically for the semester.”

Joan Eby and Miriam Samelson lead the list with 15 A’s each.

Five students received 12 A’s.

They are: Elsie Muck, Martha Eskins, Allene Koch, Ava Jane Nelson and Laura Anderson.

HARTINGTON — Holy Trinity high school normal training students took mid-year examinations for Cedar County rural teaching positions.

They were Kathlyn Hoesing, Jerome Buschelman, Sevrn Hans, Odelia Thoene, Marie Albrecht, Alice Gail Mahon, Raphael Haberer, Celesta Hausman and Angela Reifenrath. Jan. 26, 1939

HARTINGTON — Fair Manager Roddwig has set the dates for this year’s Cedar County Fair for Sept. 2-5.
