Search begins for new chief

The City of Randolph is searching for a new police chief.

The City of Randolph is searching for a new police chief.

The Randolph City Council approved the job description for the police chief position on Jan. 10 and authorized Randolph City Administrator Ben Benton to begin advertising it.

Current Police Chief Pat Eller turned in his resignation to the council in December. His official last day on the job is March 31.

In other news, the council moved its next regular monthly meeting from Feb. 14 – due to it being Ash Wednesday – to Feb. 13.

The meeting time will stay at 6:30 p.m.

“It’s always on a Wednesday,” Benton said of council meetings. “In my four years (on the job), this will be the second time it won’t be on a Wednesday.”
